More Sad News On Dubrow

Las Vegas police officials fear tragic QUIET RIOT rocker KEVIN DuBROW died six days before his body was found by a neighbour on Sunday. The police claims have been backed up by DuBrow's pal and former bandmate Kelli Garni, who admits he had been trying to contact the singer for days before his death was announced.

Garni claims he and Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali had been trying to get through to DuBrow for days and became concerned for his wellbeing when he didn't return calls and they discovered his voicemail was full. In a statement, Garni reports police at the crime scene "found no signs of foul play and are ruling this an accidental death". Police will make their official findings public following an ongoing autopsy.

Hannah Montana Coming To The Big Screen

Filming will begin sometime in April on a big screen version of Hannah Montana, with a premiere at the end of 2008 or beginning of 2009. The film will take 14-year-old Miley Stewart and her dad -- played by real daughter-father team Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus -- back to their fictional home in Tennessee.

NICOLE SCHERZINGER was shocked when she first saw her stage outfits for a PUSSYCAT DOLLS gig - because they were so revealing.

The singer blames her strict childhood for her prudish attitude towards the band's sexy costumes but insists she managed to put her initial fears behind her.

She says, "I come from a very religious, strict upbringing in Hawaii. My grandfather is a preacher. The first time I saw one of the stage outfits I had to wear for the Pussycat Dolls I screamed. But now I really love doing this."

Alicia Supports Writers

Alicia Keys took time out from promoting her new As I Am album yesterday (Tuesday) to show solidarity with striking Hollywood screenwriters. The diva performed "No One" and "Go Ahead" at a Writers Guild of America rally that was attended by approximately 10-thousand union members and supporters. The event closed down a stretch of Hollywood Boulevard for much of the afternoon.

Keys, who contacted the W-G-A and asked to take part in the rally, told the crowd, "I'm a writer. Without words, there are no songs. Without words, there are no stories. I'm here for your cause." After her performance, she added: "Stay strong! I'm supporting you! Let's walk!"

The Red Hot Chili Peppers filed suit against Showtime Networks over a new show called "Californication." In 1999, the band released a hit album with the same name. That album was named one of Rolling Stone's Top 500 Albums of All Time.

The suit, filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges Showtime and others violated federal trademark law. In the court documents, the band says the song "Californication" and the album achieved "extraordinary critical and commercial recognition," and according to a statement by lead singer Anthony Kiedis, "'Californication' is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right."

Band members want the show to stop using the name and to turn over any profits it made.

A rep for Showtime could not immediately be reached for comment.

TIMBALAND is mixing business and pleasure - and is about to become a baby daddy. According to our insider, the power producer is having a baby girl with a woman who works at his record label, Mosley Music Group.

The duo aren't a couple, although Timbaland promises to be "involved in the child's upbringing." Our source added: "He's very excited about the baby and has been very supportive to the mother." The baby is due at the end of November.

Velvet Revolver Can't Go To Japan

Velvet Revolver were looking forward to their upcoming tour of Japan to promote their current album Libertad, but the four shows between November 26th and November 30th have been cancelled.

The reason, Japanese immigration officials denied the band visas because of the backgrounds of various band members, which have included arrests. Velvet Revolver is appealing the decision but the process could take months to sort out.

Amy Winehouse's beehive hairpiece was checked for drugs when she went to visit her husband Blake Fielder-Civil in prison. Police officers at Pentonville prison were suspicious of the singer when she went to the jail yesterday.

According to The Sun, Winehouse was asked by a warden to run her fingers through the famous hair-do to prove that she did not have any drugs stashed in it. Nothing was found. Winehouse's husband was arrested last week on charges of perverting the course of justice after allegedly trying to fix a trial in which he was accused of assaulting a pub landlord.

Top Tours

The Police were the big winners at the fourth annual Billboard Touring Awards, which honor the industry’s top artists, venues and professionals for the year. At the event, held last week in New York, The Police took home awards for Top Tour and Top Draw, which means they had the top-grossing trek and the top ticket-selling one as well.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, other big winners include Kenny Chesney, who’s Flip Flop Summer tour took home the prize for Top Package for the third straight year, and Justin Timberlake, who was honored as Breakthrough Artist after the success of his FutureSex LoveShow trek. Meanwhile, Prince’s 21-night, sold-out stand at London’s O2 Arena won him the Top Boxscore award and Larry the Cable Guy won 2007’s Top Comedy Tour trophy.

And for the fourth time, Dr. Phil and Robin McGraw will serve as hosts. The concert, which benefits the National Children’s Medical Center, will be taped December 9th at the National Building Museum and will air December 12th at 10 PM Eastern and Pacific on TNT.

Matchbox Twenty Hits The Road

It’s been four years since the matchbox twenty boys hit the road and this past Saturday, the guys revealed their two month winter tour dates.

Alanis Morissette and MuteMath will be opening for the band, with the trek starting on January 25th in Florida and continuing through the Midwest in the beginning of February, the Northeast in mid-February and heading out to the West Coast towards the end of that month. Boston band Boys Like Girls formed in 2005. One of the first tasks that needs to be completed when a band is formed is choosing a name.

Frontman Martin Johnson how he and his band ended up with Boys Like Girls. "It’s just a fun name. It's like, you know when every band's like "Ok, you know, now we need a name. Now we like need to put a forward. You kinda brainstorm for a while and that was one that just kinda came out of nowhere and it was fun and obvious, and just sort of stuck."

MELANIE CHISHOLM has threatened to quit the SPICE GIRLS - if her bandmates behave outrageously on their forthcoming world tour. Lance Bass Was Once Married

Lance Bass (a frequent guest on the Jeff and Jenn Morning Show) told E! News today that he was once married in a quick service in Las Vegas. Bass divulged the marriage while promoting his new book, "Out of Sync."

Bass, who revealed this year that he is gay, said he married in "1999 or 2000" for "like 5 minutes." He revealed the marriage was part a ploy to get free drinks for the night. It didn't work, though. "We're like, 'we just got married,' and they're like, 'ah, whatever.'"

Bass said he is still close friends with his bride of five minutes.

Bon Jovi Hits A & E

Bon Jovi is the subject of a new A-&-E special, A-&-E Rocks: Bon Jovi, which will premiere November 10th. The band taped an intimate concert for their fans at a Chicago soundstage.

Among the songs they performed were "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and "Wanted Dead or Alive," plus "(You Want To) Make a Memory" and "We Got It Goin' On" from their current Lost Highway album. On November 13th, an expanded D-V-D version of the show, featuring exclusive concert footage, backstage interviews and rehearsal songs, will be released.
