Fall Out Boy think their album Infinity on High can live up to its name and that the success of the platinum-selling disc can continue forever and ever. They plan to re-release the album before Christmas with five bonus tracks, including three live recordings.

First Dodge and Now Allstate

Lifehouse have recorded a new song that will be sold through I-Tunes starting next Tuesday. But fans can hear it first in a new ad for insurance giant Allstate. Frontman Jason Wade wrote "From Where You Are" specifically for the ad, which promotes the company's new Teen Safe Driving campaign.

The full track, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of its recording and an interview with Wade, can be streamed through Allstate's website.

Still Down To Earth

Despite all the glossy magazine covers she's appeared on, Carrie Underwood doesn't consider herself a sex symbol. Carrie tells People-dot-com, "If I didn't do what I do, nobody would ever look twice at me. I'm a blender -- and the only reason anybody, if they do think of me in that way, it's just because I do what I do. I'm okay. But I'm not like anything special."

Tonight In San Diego

Gwen Stefani hasn't forgotten her roots -- as she's proven by donating the proceeds from tonight's show in San Diego to charities serving people displaced by the fires that ravaged the town this month.

Gwen, who grew up just a few miles from the affected area, issued a statement saying, "San Diego has always been so supportive of me throughout my entire career -- it has always been like a second home to me. When I heard about the devastation of the fires at first I felt I should cancel my show out of respect but then it occurred to me there might be a more useful solution."

Jon Bon Jovi Cuts A Deal With Paparazzi

Like many celebrities these days, Jon Bon Jovi has to deal with the paparazzi. And having four kids makes it even worse. So, the Bon Jovi frontman shared with USA Today how he handles the photogs. Jon says he’s cut a deal with them where they can shoot him as much as they want, so long as they keep the children out of it.

Bon Jovi’s kids, however, wouldn’t mind appearing in the tabloids, but Jon’s wife has her own philosophy on the matter, “… when you do something that is worthy of your picture being in the magazine, you can have your picture in the magazine.” JBJ also reveals that his kids aren’t all that impressed with his celebrity status anymore. He says, “My kids think I’m really cool because they’re going to meet My Chemical Romance.”

U2 = HUGE $$

from Sun-Sentinal.com

U2 Ltd., the Irish band's music publishing company, raked in $30 million-plus last year -- and $25.8 million of it went to five unidentified "employees," according to documents obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

Those "employees" are suspected to be the band members and their longtime manager, Paul McGuinness. But U2's public relations firms in Dublin and London refused to confirm that.

While Bono has won accolades worldwide for raising awareness of Third World poverty, he has been criticized for moving U2's corporate offices out of Ireland to avoid paying taxes. The U2 Ltd. documents show the band moved its corporate base last year from Ireland to the Netherlands, where royalties on music incur virtually no tax.

Bitter Party Of One

from Contact
MELANIE CHISHOLM has denounced her SPICE GIRLS bandmates for planning to bring their children on tour. The 33-year-old singer is the only member of the group who has not become a mother since the group split in 2001.

Chisholm disapproves of her fellow stars taking their offspring with them on their forthcoming world tour. She says, "Travelling around the world and living out of a suitcase is no place for a baby. If I'm blessed with a kid I'd want to be at home taking them to school and being there full-time. "I wouldn't want to be travelling the world with them strapped to my back." The Spice Girls kick off their global tour on 2 December in Vancouver, Canada.

Adam Sandler Would Be Proud

Lifehouse's "You and Me" is the kind of romantic hit that gets played at proms and dances -- and now singer-guitarist Jason Wade has performed it at a wedding. Wade was in Philadelphia recently for a friend's nuptials and sang the song for the couple's first dance.

Wade jokes that he needed to pick out the perfect "wedding singer" costume for the reception, just like Adam Sandler in the film of the same name.

Ever Wonder Where Songs Come From?

Tunes like matchbox twenty’s song “How Far We’ve Come” have to come from somewhere. Guitarist Paul Doucette said their track all started with one phrase that wouldn’t leave the band members’ heads “‘Let's See How Far We’ve Come’ came first and we were just like, what is that? What are we going to do with this? And we worked backwards from there.” So, after all the backwards work the band was left with the single “How Far We’ve Come.”

Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas on what the finished product is about. “Well, it is a fun upbeat song about the world ending.” Matchbox twenty’s new album Exile on Mainstream is in stores now.

Best Soundtrack Ever

from Contact:

Prince's Purple Rain has been named the greatest soundtrack of all time, seeing off competition from the Beatles and Bee Gees.

The soundtrack headed a list of 50 in a one-off publication called Movies Rock, compiled by the editors of Vanity Fair.

Prince's album was judged the best ever accompanying music and praised for its combination of "funk, r 'n' b, metal and even psychedelic into a sound that defined the 80s".

However, the magazine writers were less kind about the 1984 film itself, calling it "perhaps the most badly-acted ever".

The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night was named in second place, while Jimmy Cliff's acclaimed reggae soundtrack for The Harder They Come rounded off the top three.

Renowned for his off-kilter soundtrack choices, Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction album- responsible for reviving Dick Dale's Miserlou and Chuck Berry's You Never Can Tell - finished in fourth place, ahead of Simon and Garfunkel's music for The Graduate.

The iconic soundtrack to 1996's Trainspotting was named in seventh, while Saturday Night Fever, in eighth place, was labeled "required listening for anyone looking to heat up the dance floor".

American Graffiti and The Big Chill finished the top ten, with the latter famed for its climactic use of the Rolling Stones' You Can't Always Get What You Want

Fall Out Boy Going Folk?

What will the next Fall Out Boy album sound like? Frontman Patrick Stump tells Billboard.com that the record will not be coming out anytime soon, but that so far, the new album has “bizarre ideas on there.”

Stump says they have already written an album’s worth of material and it is “everything from folk to ... actually, I was experimenting with piano phases, like Steve Reich, the composer. There'll be some weird stuff, but at the end of the day, it's probably just gonna be a pop record.”

Fall Out Boy play Austin, Texas tonight.

Pat Monahan Rides Solo Train

Pat Monahan has been part of Train for more than 13 years. This past September, though, he put out his first solo album, Last of Seven. For him, the creative control he was allowed during his solo venture was something new. (

“There is no other reason for a song to make an album other than one person feeling passionate about it, instead of a group of different reasons and so I guess the process for me did become really freeing.”

Pat Monahan’s Last of Seven is in stores now; he plays Milwaukee, Wisconsin tonight.

California Fires Cause Lifehouse To Take A Detour

Lifehouse performed at the House of Blues in San Diego on Sunday and hit the road yesterday to make last night’s gig in Tempe, Arizona, but things did not exactly go according to plan. The band had to make a detour because the roads were closed due to high winds escalating the fires in California.

Carrie Underwood + Romo = Best Friends

Carrie Underwood says that contrary to much media speculation, she and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo were never a couple -- even though he attended the A-C-M Awards with her this spring. She tells Nashville's Tennessean, "Right now, the place we are at, he is my best friend. He'll call me after games... Either I'm flying high with him or making him feel better.

It took a little while to get to this point. It seemed like maybe for a bit we were headed there. We never got there." And Carrie tells Entertainment Weekly, "Point blank, he is about football. I don't know if it's that I'm not quite his type or whatever, but I don't think he's at the point in his life where he would be willing to sacrifice football."

More recently, the reigning C-M-A Female Vocalist has been tied to Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford. She tells People magazine, "He's really cute... He's got cool hair, he's a nice height and he just has beautiful blue eyes." The two have been spotted at a couple of New York hotspots, including the Marquee nightclub and the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar.

First and foremost on Carrie's mind these days is her new album, Carnival Ride, which hits stores Tuesday

Posh' 15 Seconds of Fame

Victoria Beckham has been given just four lines to sing on the Spice Girls' comeback track.

According to a report in the Daily Star today, Posh's solo spot in 'Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)' lasts for just fifteen seconds, and she has to share one of her lines with Mel B.

Emma Bunton, who wrote the song with Geri Halliwell, sings a whole verse at the beginning of the track. Halliwell and Mel C also feature heavily.

However, a spokesman for the band insisted: "The verses have all been shared out equally among the five members and they all sing together on the chorus."

No Secret

Carrie Underwood remembered how fame can sometimes have a downside during a recent shopping trip to Victoria's Secret.

She tells Entertainment Weekly, "It's creepy! But these girls followed me the whole time, and I'm like, 'Man, they see every single pair of underwear I'm putting in my little shopping bag!' Just say something. Say hey, I'll say hey, it'll be good and then we can both continue shopping."

Carrie admits that she doesn't like to share a lot about herself with people. She says, "There's got to be some things for me."

Amy Winehouse was busted for marijuana possession in Norway yesterday.

The singer and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, and an unnamed third person were arrested late yesterday in Bergen, which is in southwestern Norway, after police were tipped off. "They were found with seven grams (about a quarter-ounce) of marijuana," said prosecutor Lars Morten Lothe. "She's paid the fine, so this thing is over for us now."

Amy was scheduled to perform in Oslo tomorrow night and then on to the Netherlands.

Mr and Mrs Bon Jovi

There are those who'd say that Jon Bon Jovi is one of rock's true nice guys -- but the singer insists it wasn't always that way.

Jon tells Best Life magazine, "I've been in one of the biggest rock bands in the world for 25 years, and I'm not a saint, and I have never been a saint. I missed tons of birthdays and school plays. But it's not like [my wife] Dorothea came in halfway through the movie and didn't know who she got."

For what it's worth, the singer has been married to Dorothea, his childhood sweetheart, for more than 18 years.

Happy Birthday John Mayer

John Mayer celebrates his 30th birthday today. He has shot to fame since his major-label debut, Room for Squares, was released six years ago. He's won five Grammys and two American Music Awards, but there's one honor he considers the most important -- his Dundie.

The Dundies were part of 2005 episode of the N-B-C sitcom The Office. The show's producers asked Mayer for permission to use "Your Body is a Wonderland" as a key part of a Christmas episode in 2006. Mayer at first turned them down, but then reconsidered and said he wanted a Dundie in exchange. So they had a trophy made up that named Mayer Tallest Music Dude. Mayer posted a picture of the award on his blog and called it "the only award that matters in this business."

Bono Not So Spicey

Rumors have been flying that Bono plans on working with the Spice Girls on some new tracks. Turns out that the U2 frontman will not be trading in his credibility card altogether. His manager Paul McGuinness tells U-K paper The Sun that’s not gonna happen.
